This was one of the most wonderful trip at K.Rompin. Landed
7 sailfish, 1 shark and others small fishes.
Looking in the eyes, 3 places is boiling. Sea water get
boil? Nope, there are few group of fish hunting for food...
We can see the sharks, sailfish, Tongkol, other suspected
tenggiri & GT.
I drop my 1st bait with wire, 5min later line out like
nobody biz. I pull out my rod, tighten the drag but I still can't stop the
biggie. With lack of experience or being to excite, I tighten the drag again...
end up? Hook being straight & fish gone.
About 10min later, Wan's rod bent & reel screaming. He
quickly holds on the rod and start fighting. With his skills, he controlled the
fish well but the fish still won't surrender. About half an hour, a shark
landed about 25kg. We treat it for fresh water in order make it calm down.
After that, we start our main dishes. Sailfish.
Double hookup just happened as we reach the 2nd spot after
15min wait. Wan & Alex concentrate on fighting. Both the sail jump out and
dance on the surface make us thrills. 15min later, Wan landed the 1st sailfish
of the trip. 10min later, Alex land the 2nd sailfish.
About half an hour later, Alex's rod bent again and he start
fighting then about 25min later he land the 3rd sailfish.
We moved to another spot and throw out our balloon and wait
for sailfish. Wan's rod bent again, after hookup, he pass the rod to me and I
start fighting. This Tekota got line counter attached. After jumping, it does
for it's 1st run. The 1st run before it stops line gone about 110m. From there
I crank in slowly. About 20min later I land the 4th sailfish.
Joranpanjang at the front do some popping & jigging.
Sailfish did follow the popper but don't bite. After he gets bored, he starts
the sailfish hunting too.
Not for a long wait, his rod bent and reel screaming.
Sailfish, yes he hookup a big sail fish. After reel in, line out again about
40min. Finally he land the 5th sailfish. Why took so long is because the hook
place on the body.
After changing place, Wan's rod bent again. He fight for
about 20min and land the 6th sailfish.
Half hour later, I hookup another sailfish. Time running
fast and I land it after 20min later. The sky now having the dark face.
Estimate rain & storm coming soon. So we decided move back earlier which at
3pm.
