Landed 7 sailfish, 1 shark and others small fishes. Looking in the eyes, 3 places is boiling. Sea water get boil? Nope, there are few group of fish hunting for food... We can see the sharks, sailfish, Tongkol, other suspected tenggiri & GT. I drop my 1st bait with wire, 5min later line out like nobody biz. I pull out my rod, tighten the drag but I still can't stop the biggie. With lack of experience or being to excite, I tighten the drag again... end up? Hook being straight & fish gone. About 10min later, Wan's rod bent & reel screaming. He quickly holds on the rod and start fighting. With his skills, he controlled the fish well but the fish still won't surrender. About half an hour, a shark landed about 25kg. We treat it for fresh water in order make it calm down. After that, we start our main dishes. Sailfish. This time we having 1d1n trip due to fasting month for Muslim. Boat arrived at jetty about 3.15pm. 1st spot is unjam Tokong Yu. We catch many Apollo fishes such as selar, kembong, tamban for live bait and for our dinner as well. We fish around Tokong Yu on 2 spot only cause the current so strong at the nighttime. We manage to catch small shark, small GT, pasir & tambak. I caught 1 GT with jigging hehe. The group: Octopus, Wan Amildin & Richard from JB; Pep_cgi, Sesirat & Dejagothic from KL; Norizal & Fishcrazymy from Nilai meet at K.Rompin 8.15pm at the food stall there. From there added another member from Kuatan, Peter. So total become nine person but Peter will arrive on next morning. After we loaded our stuff onto the boat, we start our 2d1n-fishing trip for Mackerel hunt. It took 3 and half hours to reach unjam for baitfish with Apollo rig. Targeted kembong as the favorites for mackerel and most of the predator fishes… unfortunately bait fish not around. According to boatman, trawler boat wipe off most of the area recently. So we keep changing location to find more baitfishes. After gaining enough bullets, we heading to Karang Ngah. Reach there around 11am. We dropping our rig and wait for those Tenggiri. Main line 20lb, leader 20lb, steel wire 20lb also. Some using drifting method while those kaki’s in front mainly add a sinker on the rig. After a long wait, 1st tenggiri caught by leader Wan. While we passby Mersing, we turn into seaside road for the beautify scenery. As usual, we have our dinner at a seafood restaurant nearby seaside. As usual, we wait for almost 1 hour before the dinner served. Call up Ah Liang(boatman), he joinned us for dinner and introduce his asistant to us.
